In 2011 Arkansas State University’s Center for Digital Initiatives worked with Dr. Ruth Hawkins and David Hollywood (who created the Second Life models) to recreate the the Hemingway-Pfeiffer Museum and Educational Center in the online multi-user virtual environment, Second Life.

This model allowed visitors to visit the online environment and tour the virtual house as it existed during the time that Hemingway visited and worked there, and includes the barn-studio, located behind the Hemingway-Pfeiffer home, where Hemingway wrote part of A Farewell to Arms. The virtual tour is a very popular Second Life destination, and is still available for visits online. To visit the online Second Life site, click here.
