Pfeiffer-Janes House UpdateGutters

Thanks to an Arkansas Natural and Cultural Resources Council Grant, built-in and half round copper gutters are installed on the Pfeiffer-Janes House as they were in the 1930s. Front porch and second floor porch gutters are not visible as they are built in the roof. All other areas have half-round gutters painted to match the house. Porch floors and railings are repaired, and the entire house has a new coat of paint. Thankfully, the new gutters will help protect the house from water runoff damage.

Although we were closed to public tours May 22 - June 24 for construction, we had two weeks of Writers’ Retreat, one week of Professional Development Workshops and a Red Hat Tea in the Educational Center and two weddings on the lawn during that time.
